Picking Out a Diamond Ring On A Budget

With Valentine's Day next week, a few men might be thinking about proposing.

Picking out a diamond ring can be challenging.

There are four things that control a diamonds price:

1) Cut

2) Color

3) Clarity

4) Carrot Weight

The princess cut style is very common. The face-up shape of the princess cut is square  or rectangular and the profile or side-on shape is similar to that of an inverted pyramid with four beveled sides. However, this diamond can be pricey.

"One of the things that will help with budgets is maybe considering doing a ring that has a cluster setting." Assistant manager of Riddle's Jewelry Marie Peter says. "Its much easier to find smaller diamonds and put them together at a one ct. total weight or a two carrot weight. Its much easier to finds all those diamonds and put them together vs. one large stone of that same carrot weight."
