husband re-doing my ring- some advice on styles...?

My husband wasn't really interested in my engagement ring when we were engaged- he waited about 8 months to get me one.
Now he sees his other friends getting engaged and spending a lot of time on the ring selection process, and he regrets
if you get two 2/5 carat stones to put on the side, the center stone will be smaller, and might not look so good. you could trade the original stone in and get its value, then get three 1/3 carat stones so that the ring is balanced.
